Gilbert Temple Open House

This last weekend since it was longer one with Monday being a holiday we decided to take trip down to Mesa/Gilbert area to visit my brother and to attend the Gilbert Arizona LDS temple open house. It was nice to be only 6 hours away instead of 11 and half hours away. We left around 11:30 am and it took awhile to get out of LA but once we got on the right freeway we stayed on that for over 200 miles. We remembered again why we like to drive through the night it's just easier for kids and parents.

After were way into our drive our kids were getting bored and hungry. I had found a box of conversation hearts in my jacket pocket. I gave everyone one heart to suck on and see who could make it last the longest. It was fun to see who made them last the longest were able to do that at least five times. We stayed with Robby and LaSchelle, they were so nice to open up their house for us. We arrived Friday evening and LaSchelle wasn't feeling good but still had dinner waiting for us. Our kids were just glad to be out of the car and their cousin were glad to see them. We got up early Saturday morning to get to the Gilbert Open house we didn't have tickets, we got their about 8:15 am and got in the end of the non-ticket line. We waited for 1 hr 24 min before we got into the Stake Center to see the short film and get instruction before we go through the temple.  The temple inside and out was so beautiful all the little details were amazing.

When ever there was chance to sit down they would

Can't see very well but there is hot air ballon in the sky.
There was few that day the kids liked to watch them.

Playing games while we wait.

As you can tell this is one of our favorite parks. Mostly because it's within walking distance.

First time at the Beach

On Friday(Jan. 3) we bribed the kids that if they helped unpack we would go to the beach on Saturday.  By the time we got around to going it was getting late. Tyler and I decided to divide and conquer, I took the kids to the beach and he went shopping so we could have food for Sunday. Here are the pictures of our visit.
Liam acting like the sand is poop

Lyncoln posing like always

Seth didn't care that he didn't have swimsuit he kept going out

Right before the rug rats got soaked

All the kids had a blas

Laide got more wet than I was hoping but her pants wouldn't stay rolled up

She was running from the wave and fell

The last bit of her that was dry was no longer dry

When I was ready to go home and it was getting dark, I called Tyler to see if he was close to being done so he could pick us up. He wasn't close to being done so we walked 17 blocks home with dripping wet kids. They only complained for the first few blocks. When we got home Tyler and just pulled in. The kids all took showers to warm up while Tyler and I made our first real meal in our new place.

Our Big Move

On January 1st 2014 we packed up all our belongs from my parents house where we had been house sitting for them for the past year while they are serving a LDS mission in Brazil. Tyler has been contracting for Riot Games  since last July.  Tyler had been flying out t every other week to Santa Monica for three days and the other time he would work for home. We felt like for Tyler to have more opportunities to advance in his career it would be best for us to move closer to Riot Games.

We had some amazing people people show up to help us move. We want to tell Doug Hamblin, Andrew Branch, Ward and Joe Wright and especially big thanks to our wonderful parents Randall and Dawn Wright. We couldn't have done it without all of you, we are so blessed to such great friends and family. That has been the hardest part for us was to leave all those great people behind, but we are excited to make new friends and have a new ward family.

On the 1st Tyler and I got up at 3:30 am to pack and to try to get everything ready for when people would show up at 10 am. We packed and loaded and and reloaded the Uhaul by 5 pm we were finally done went and had dinner and saw our kids. Tyler and I went to take a nap since we planned to drive through the night so it would be easier on the kids. Tyler had a good nap but me on the other hand couldn't sleep very good and didn't get much of nap. Tyler and I had audio books to listen to and would talk to each other and keep an eye where the other was. I did good until 6 am where I just couldn't keep my eye open. We pulled over I think an hour and half away from Santa Monica. I went into the Uhaul while Tyler drove around for 45 minutes with the kids. After that I did great and we arrived in Santa Monica around 9:30. The realtor that works for those that own our apartment lives in the building his name is Richard he saved us a parking spot right in front of our apartment and let us use his parking permit. I had hired two guys to help us move in from a recommendation from other Rioters while we were waiting Tyler and the boys brought in some stuff while the girls and I found bagel shop just a block away. We had not had breakfast and we ate on the front steps of our apartment it was crazy coming from pretty cold to not needing jacket in January.

The two guys that helped move in were great their names were Jay and Randy. Jay had an accent the kids thought he might be from Australia but come to find out he was from London, England. There was point that Tyler and them couldn't get our couch in the front door and we thought we might not be able to have it. It was bit stuck and in the process of getting in unstuck they got in the door. No one could tell me how they did it or if they could do it again. It took us the morning and the afternoon to unpack the truck. We let the kids watch a movie on the ipad while Tyler and I did some more setting up but Adelaide was worn out and I found her at the table asleep.

Later we went to dinner at place called Poqutio Mos that we were able to walk to. We went with friends from Riot Nick(who has been on Tyler's team for the past six months) and his wife Candy.

After dinner we parted ways and came home to put the kids to bed. They all did great sleeping in their beds in new place.
