Liam turned 8 years old on March 15. I love making a big deal about my kids birthday's. Liam first got to have donuts and strawberry milk for breakfast.
My amazing friend Sandy made this cake for Liam. He gave her his pinewood derby car to make him pine wood derby cake. Sandy is so talented. For Seth's birthday she made him Harry Potter cake.
The pinewood derby car that isn't on the cake was what Liam made. Sandy did an amazing job. She even made the gold coins with the black electric tape. Everything on the cake you can eat.
We have started a new tradition where Grandpa Wright comes to the kids class on their birthday. He is great story teller, Liam's class loved hearing his story about when he was in the 2nd grade. I'm so grateful that their Grandpa likes to share his talents.
Liam was glad the weather was nice for his party. Earlier that week we had snow I wasn't sure if we would be able to do what we planned. We played few games of capture the flag. I got t-shirts for the kids to wear. Liam picked the team names. In the black t-shirt were Skittles and the red t-shirts were Swedish Fish. After we played capture the flag we played statues. It was fun teaching the kids how to play one of my favorite childhood games.

Over all I would say Liam's 8th birthday party was great success. All the kids got to take home their
t-shirt and a bag of skittles or swedish fish depending on what team they were on.
